This page highlights my students' semester projects from ENS 151 (Earth Science) at the University of Illinois Springfield. UIS is a small, public liberal arts university within the U of I system. ENS 151 fulfills our general education requirement as a physical science without a lab and is typically taken by underclassman non-science majors.

For their project, students were tasked with building a website featuring a natural disaster that has occurred during recent human history. This is a way for my students to further explore a particular earthquake, volcanic eruption, or weather event of their interest in greater detail than we can cover in class. It also provides them with an opportunity to practice skills in teamwork before moving on to upper-division courses in their major. Webpages will continue to be hosted here after the semester for students who wish to include this project in any future portfolio of their work.
